Ideal candidates will have a PhD in neuroscience, engineering, or related discipline, a strong background in systems neuroscience, and ability to work in a large multidisciplinary team. Special considerations are given to applicants with training in imaging, slice, or in vivo physiology, and programming experience (MATLAB).

The Kanold Lab is housed in the Biosciences Research Building in the Department of Biology at UM, and part of the Institute of Systems Research (ISR) and the large multidisciplinary neuroscience community (NACS). The Kanold lab has numerous local, national, and international collaborations. The UMd campus is located suburban Washington DC, and is easily accessible by subway from downtown (green line).
